Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina now wants protesters who looted and set part of his supermarket in Nyeri ablaze to return what they stole from him.

Addressing faithful, the lawmaker said he does not wish to engage the police but just wants what was stolen from him back.

The vividly bitter MP said fridges from his supermarket are in the homes of people in the area.

“My cookers, washing machines, If it’s possible, I don’t want to involve the police, just tell them to return my things and when they do that, Christianity will be better than it is now,” he said.

“My five-storey building was burnt, I slept a millionaire but woke up a poor man. Tell the Christians that it’s not godly to burn someone’s five storey building.”

Wainaina lamented that the people he has helped in the past, especially during COVID-19 times, are the same ones who have betrayed him and stolen his property.

“I helped them during COVID-19, I filled three lorries with flour and distributed them to the people just to help those who did not have a job. They are the same people who burnt my property, Just return my things and if not, may the blessings that were meant for you, become mine,” he said.

Soon after the incident, Wainaina said he incurred losses worth millions of shillings following the destruction of his businesses during the anti-Finance Bill protests.

The lawmaker in on record claiming that he suffered losses amounting to Sh550 million during protests after his supermarket in Kieni, Nyeri County was razed.

He said he lost stock worth Sh450 million and equipment such as bakery shelves estimated to cost around Sh100 million.

The lawmaker explained that despite incurring huge losses, he did not regret voting for the Bill as he did for the sake of his constituents.

“I voted in support of the Bill because the people of Kieni stood to benefit from it being an agricultural zone where our people farm onions, potatoes, eggs and milk,” he said…CONTINUE READING>>
