Taking to his X page, the young man disclosed that he intended to transfer money to a friend, but the account’s name sounded too similar to the one he had in mind, so he mistakenly sent it to the wrong one.
Conversely, he pleaded with the public to help him figure out how to get his money back from the Afrobeats superstar.
He wrote, “Good day sir Mr David Adeleke @davido I want to bring your awareness about an issue pls”.
“I will want you to consider me I mistakenly sent #500,000 naira to you Wema Bank with this acct num0123044967 Which was supposed to be sent to a friend of mine which name is also David Adeleke”.
Massive responses to the message were seen on social media, with users flooding the platform with their opinions.
