As reported Tribal Football, PSG will wait for the World Cup in Qatar to conclude before they resume contract talks with Messi. Messi’s current deal in France ends in June 2023.
The French club are keen to extend his contract by a further two years, especially considering that Barcelona as desperate to get their star player back.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has often said that Messi is always welcome back. Laporta even admitted that Messi leaving was his fault and he was determined to bring the superstar back, Tribuna reported.
The player himself has requested that all contract negotiations be put on hold until the tournament is over. Messi endured a tough first season in France but is starting to show once again why he’s one of the greatest of all time.
Messi has played 53 games for the Ligue 1 champions, scoring 23 goals and notching up 29 assists.
