It should be recalled that Senator Ademola Adeleke emerged, as Governorship Candidate of the Party, in 2019 but could not win the final Governorship Race.
The Governorship Election, was initially declared, inconclusive, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rescheduled rerun election in the State, but unfortunately for PDP, the Governorship Candidate of APC, Oyetola won the Governorship race.
However, the Governorship Candidate of PDP in 2019, Ademola Adeleke still stands better chance of clinching Governorship Ticket of the Party, in 2023, due to following reasons.
One of the reasons is that the zoning system of the Party, will favour Senator Ademola Adeleke in 2022 Governorship race. It should be recalled that Ademola Adeleke, is from Osun west senatorial district.
Meanwhile, the only formidable Governorship Aspirant that may also Challenge Ademola Adeleke, from Osun west senatorial district, is Hon Akin Ogunbiyi.
Though, Akin Ogunbiyi is from Osun West senatorial district, but Ogunbiyi is not popular like Senator Adeleke, to challenge him in the Governorship Contest.
Therefore, Adeleke stand better chance of clinching Governorship ticket of the Party, in 2022.
Another Point why Senator Ademola Adeleke stands better chance of clinching Governorship ticket of the Party, is that he has the financial strength to challenge APC in the forthcoming Polls.
As it is now in Osun PDP, No Governorship Aspirant, has the financial strength like Adeleke, to challenge APC in the forthcoming Governorship Race.
Senator Adeleke also has the control of the executive of the Party in the State, that can easily influence, the Governorship ticket of the Party, for him in 2022.
It should be recalled that the State Chairman of the Party, Hon Sunday Bisi belongs to Adeleke’s faction in the Party. Meanwhile, Adeleke has cordial relationship with the Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde.
Seyi Makinde supported Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, against the former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola for the Position of Deputy National Chairman of PDP (south) and Arapaja defeated him, in the just concluded National Convention of the Party.
This is to shows how influential Makinde is, in the Party and Adeleke is well connected to him. This means Adeleke stands better chance, of clinching Governorship ticket of the Party, in 2022 Governorship Race.
