Would be disappointed to have missed out on the Premier league title with Liverpool on the final day but Alisson Becker undoubtedly had a brilliant individual season for his team....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>
Centre back
Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea)
Would be sorely missed by Chelsea and the English Premier league as a whole. Rudiger was a rock at the back for Chelsea throughout the season.
Centre back
Joel Matip (Liverpool)
One of the most under appreciated and under rated players in the English Premier league, Joel Matip oozed class for Liverpool throughout the 2021/2022 season.
Right back
Alexander Arnold (Liverpool)
Would be gutted to have missed out on the best young player award. However, Arnold was the standout right back in the English Premier league this season. Just pips Reece James to our list.
Left back
Joao Cancelo (Manchester City)
Joao Cancelo took his game to new heights this season for Manchester City. The Portuguese fullback was regularly deployed in a makeshift left back position but was one of the most consistent perfomers in the English Premier league all season.
Midfield
Rodri (Manchester City)
Another player whose performance usually goes under the radar, Rodri was the heart beat of Manchester City’s midfield as the Citizens cruised to the league title.
Midfield
Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace)
An unpopular choice but if there’s one player outside the traditional big six who deserves a place in our EPL team of the season then its definitely on-loan Chelsea midfielder Connor Gallagher who was a joy to watch all season for Crystal Palace.
Midfield
Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
Started the season in his usual slow fashion but picked up form when his team needed him the most as he popped up with goals and assists in crucial games.
Right Winger
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Started the season on fire as he consistently came up with the goods for his side. Faded off a bit after January but still did enough to pick up the Top scorer and Assists award.
Left Winger
Heung-Min Son (Tottenham Hotspur)
What an incredible season this man just had. Always delivered when his team needed him to as he helped push them into a top 4 spot on the log. Won the Golden boot award after 23 league goals without a single penalty. Absolutely superb
Centre Forward
Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United)
A few might disagree with his inclusion in our team of the season but Cristiano Ronaldo had an individual campaign to remember despite a relatively poor season from a team perspective.
The 37 year old scored some crucial goals against some of the biggest sides in the league and would have undoubtedly been a good candidate for the player of season award if Manchester United did not under achieve.
