Erik ten Hag’s side were expected to be torn apart following recent form and headto-head record but they managed to leave Merseyside with one point.

United who missed so many key players for the game defended for 90 minutes but ultimately got rewarded for their efforts. Five players in particular stood heads a d shoulders above the rest.

1. Andre Onana

The United goalkeeper has cone undetfire this season but he saw out his 6th Premier League cleansheet of the season at Anfield which firmly puts him in the race for the golden glove.

The Cameroonian shot stopper faced 33 shits with 9 of them on goal, he managed to keep out all 9 and some of them were quite the saves.

Aside his shot stopping, Onana was crucial to United’s build up play and sire as the passes better than most of their midfield players.

2. Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw played left back for United today following the returns of Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans to the XI and he’s still the top class player he always has been.

He blocked shots time and again and helped to limit Liverpool’s attacking moves. He showed why Ten Hag trusts him so much.

3. Jonny Evans

Evans produced yet another good performance since his return to Manchester United. Helped limit Liverpool to long shots and ensured the Reds never had many clear cut chances.

His partnership with Varane was indeed a joy to behold as their experience was called to action more than once and they answered.

4. Diogo Dalot

He got sent off in the 94th minute fir dissent but Diogo Dakit was a shining light for Manchester United at Anfield.

He held his own defensively including a crucial tackle won from Luis Diaz when Liverpool had a counterattacking move.

Dakit helped take the ball out from the back too even though United’s approach limited how much he could do with it.

5. Kobbie Mainoo

Dedoute an early yellow card, Kobbie Mainoo was a rock in United’s midfield, holding strong for the entire time he was on the pitch.
