It was an average performance from Thomas Tuchel’s men and the manager wouldn’t be unhappy with the outcome of the game.
Chelsea conceded a goal in the space of 6 minutes as Maddison’s brilliant shot from the edge of the box managed to beat Edouard Mendy in goal.
Chelsea grabbed a deserving equaliser before the end of the first half. It was Alonso who managed to find the back of the net with a sublime half-volley from close range after receiving a sublime pass from Reece James.
Though, Chelsea didn’t earn a win but Chalobah would be incredibly pleased with the outcome of the contest.
The Chelsea defender hasn’t lost a single game when he starts for Chelsea this season. Chalobah has started 23 games for Chelsea in all competitions this season. However, it is quite surprising that the youngster didn’t suffer a defeat in those games.
Chalobah has been quite inconsistent this season, leaving Thomas Tuchel with no other choice than to leave him out of the starting lineup at different stages of the season.
Nevertheless, we can’t possibly overlook the quality Chalobah possesses and he’s bound to improve in coming years.
