The Igbo Day celebration in Lagos State, which took place on Sunday, has as its theme, ‘Celebrating Primordial Brotherhood Between Igbo and Yoruba’, also attracted dignitaries from across the country, including Obasanjo, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, former Super Eagles technical adviser, Bonferer Jo, serving and former members of the National Assembly, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly called Obi Cubana, chairman of Chisco motors, popular Nollywood actors and a host of others.
Obasanjo in his speech said he would do everything within his power to ensure the unity of Nigeria, stressing that unity and justice are vital for sustainable peace.

“Igbo people are widely travelled and their contributions to the growth of the country cannot be overemphasised. We need one another in the country for sustainable peace,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu said he is proud to associate with Ndigbo because of their contribution to the prosperity of Lagos State.
The governor, represented by Chief Joe Igbokwe, his special adviser on drainage, expressed his delight with Ndigbo.
