Police operatives attached to the Ago-Iwoye Police Station and some officials of Road Union Workers at Ago-Iwoye Park have reportedly killed a student of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), identified as Onadipe Oluwatosin popularly known as Peckulia and covered up the incident.

The policemen had after killing him allegedly taken his body to ljebu-ljesha road, dumped his body, and overran with their vehicle to create a picture that he died in a motor accident, SaharaReporters learnt.

Oluwabunmi Michael Awoyemi, who shared the story in a post on his X (formerly Twitter), revealed that the incident happened on December 17, 2023, when the late Oluwatosin went to Ago-Iwoye Park (chips) to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to people.

Demanding justice for Oluwatosin, Awoyemi narrated how his life was cut short. He wrote: “On Sunday 17th of December, Onadipe Oluwatosin (Peckulia) was said to have gone to Ago-Iwoye park (chips) to preach the gospel to people.

“According to an eyewitness, the park chairman accused him of disturbing his peace. The Marinuana smoking park Chairman and his people decided to chase him, after which he refused to leave but continued with the gospel.

Then, all of a sudden a man who was confirmed as the former park chairman knocked him on the head with a heavy vulcanizer iron rod, which left him bleeding profusely and some had to leave the scene immediately for safety purposes. The Ago Iwoye Police Station was called to intervene.

“No one went near Oluwatosin to help him or even rush him to a nearby hospital till the police got there. People now thought he was going to finally get medical attention, but instead, he went missing for more than a week.”

Awoyemi further narrated that his family even went to Ago Iwoye Police Station to file a case of missing person.
According to him, the police having known what they had done decided not to tell the family anything, only for his dead body to be found on Ijebu-ljesha road in what looked like a motor accident.

“The family was also made to believe they had lost their son in a tragic motor accident.”
He thanked God for a God-fearing eyewitness who now decided to reach out anonymously to his family member and tell about what he saw.

Citing the eyewitness account, he said “he told the family that he last saw Oluwatosin (Peckulia) at the park,” narrating how a man hit him with iron and broke his head, and he fell and started bleeding profusely.

“But that their bus left the garage not long after and he couldn’t say what happened after but that he heard the police had been called and was also told by the driver carrying them that the man who knocked him was a former park chairman.

“After a few arrests, interrogations, and questioning at the park (chips) there were confessions that the police were the ones who carried Oluwatosin (Peckulia) away in their van but not for medical attention.

“They carried him to the spot where he was found, threw away his phone, and made it all look like a motor accident. They made sure they carried him far away to a spot out of their jurisdiction and even when the body was found, reports wouldn’t be made at their police station.

“These are men we entrust our life to and believe we will be safe in their hands committing such atrocious act of murder. I am heartbroken beyond repair,” he lamented.

He expressed optimism that the government and human rights bodies would take up the case and make sure that all those involved in the murder including the policemen were arrested and prosecuted and will never do such again to any human being forthwith.
“It is my Oluwatosin (Peckulia) this time, it could be your brother, sister, or children tomorrow! he said.
