With an impressive track record of 15 consecutive AFCON knockout stage appearances, Nigeria boasts the most knockout-stage wins in the tournament’s history.
Their journey in this edition has seen them navigate through challenges, highlighting their determination to add another chapter to their storied AFCON history.
On the other side, Cameroon’s path to the last 16 was marked by resilience, securing a second-place finish in Group C behind reigning champions Senegal. Their dramatic 3-2 victory over Gambia, featuring an own goal and an injury-time winner, showcased their ability to stage comebacks.
