According to a post by ESPN on their verified Facebook Page, Neymar Jr took to his Twitter handle and shared a photo of Pele’s shirt with the title “may God bless and protect us”.

It will be recalled that Pele died on Thursday, the 29th of December 2022 at the age of 82 years after a long battle with Colon Cancer and has since been buried in his native home in Brazil.

This will be the first game Neymar Jr will be playing since Pele’s death. The former Barcelona player was absent in his club’s 3-1 defeat against Lens after he picked up a Red card in Paris Saint Germain’s game against against Strasbourg on the 28th of December 2022.
