Newcastle-linked England International could be on the move
Conor Gallagher could be on a move away from Stamford Bridge after the troubled start to his and Chelsea’s Premier League campaign this season.
The youngster was sent off for the Blues against Leicester last weekend and could potentially send a £20 million bid plus extra add-ons Chelsea’s way in January according to the Sun.
Gallagher was linked with Newcastle early on in the summer transfer window but after his loan spell with Crystal Palace last season, the London club always seemed like favourites to land the 22-year-old if he was to leave Cobham.
Newcastle could reignite interest in Everton youngster in January
Eddie Howe could still try and land the services of Everton striker Anthony Gordon in the January transfer window after a bid of £30 million was rejected by the Merseyside club in the summer.
Although Frank Lampard’s side sold Richarlison to Spurs for a hefty price, they’ll be less likely to get rid of Gordon now that he’s had a good start to the season and will be key to securing safety this campaign.
With Newcastle having good financial backing now, it’ll be important for them to not overspend for Gordon but if they can get the right price for him, they will stay interested according to iNews.
Another goalkeeper on the horizon
Despite the acquisition of Nick Pope in the summer, the Magpies might swoop in for another goalkeeper in the form of FC Porto’s Diogo Costa according to TEAMtalk.
The 22-year-old is pushing for a place on the plane to the World Cup for Portugal in two months’ time and could find himself in the centre of a bidding war between Newcastle and a variety of other Premier League clubs for his services.
Newcastle are reportedly ready to offer £22 million for him but with his release clause standing at £51.8 million, it would be seen as an incredible amount to spend on a goalkeeper, especially so soon after buying Pope from Burnley for under £11 million.
