But now, Manchester United football club could be rocked with reports that experienced defensive midfielder Scott Mctominay could leave the club before the end of the transfer window.
The 26-year-old Scotland International, who gained promotion to the Manchester United first-team squad back in 2017 has been an important member of the ft team over the previous seasons.
The experienced defensive midfielder has been heavily involved for Manchester United so far this 2022/2023 season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in 27 appearances in all competitions.
His impressive performances in midfield is believed to have caught the attention of Newcastle United and according to reports from The Sun, the Premier League side are keen on signing him.
The reports further claimed that Newcastle United are really interested in Scott Mctominay and have now added the experienced defensive midfielder to their transfer shortlist.
It is believed that Scott Mctominay wants to leave Manchester United as he has recently fallen behind the pecking order with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Fred now ahead of him.
But then, it remains to be seen if Newcastle United will be able to reach an agreement with Manchester United football club in order to complete the signing of Scott Mctominay before the window closes.
