Journalist Mutahi Maina worked at a media house and used his influence to help a female friend get employed.
In a post on Facebook, Maina disclosed that he had become friends with the lady after a neighbour introduced the two.

Therefore, when an opportunity for a TV show came up, he did all he could to get her the chance.
The young woman soon got contracted as a host for one of the popular shows on herbal medicine.
It happened that the said friend knew that after work, Maina passed by River Road and Nyamakima to buy electricals for resale in Witeithie, where he lived.
The side hustle earned him an extra KSh 1500 to 2,000k daily, easing his financial burden.
Maina reported to work one morning and found his boss and other staff members inspecting his computer, including the e-mail.
They then printed the price lists and proof showing that he was involved in other businesses, so he got fired.
Reached for comment, Maina told TUKO.co.ke that the friend betrayed him just six months after he helped her.
A few months after losing his job, he met the young woman in Ngara, but she was too guilty to talk to him.
