She was born and brought up in Nyeri Kieni East. After completing her secondary education, she went to college where she studied fashion design. She secured a job in Nairobi and after a few years of working, she fell in love with a young man.
After disclosing to him about her pregnancy, he didn’t have a problem. After a few months, they moved in together before the pregnancy was visible. At first, the man was good but later realized that he was dating old women.
They solved the issue but he now became worse because he welcomed one of his cousins in their single-room house. They could go out together and return in the evening while drunk holding each other. At first she thought it was normal the cousin would pretend that she was afraid to sleep on the couch.
The husband would ask her to go and sleep on their bed while the man would go and sleep on the couch. One day she pretended to go and spend a few days in the village.
