Having sacked their first team manager Jesse Marsch following a string of poor results from their last 6 Premier League matches which yielded no single win, Leeds will hope to get back to winning ways against Man United who would be without their midfield general, Casemiro.
The Brazilian was shown a straight red card during United’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend for his violent conduct against Will Hughes and will now miss three league games starting from tomorrow.
So here are 3 players ten Hag could start in the defensive midfield position as Casemiro’s replacement tomorrow.
3. Marcel Sabitzer.
The Austrian international joined United on transfer deadline day in January after deciding to leave Bayern Munich to work with Erik ten Hag.
Sabitzer made his debut against Crystal Palace and did a good job in helping to preserve the Red Devils’ slim lead after Casemiro was sent off.
And with Christian Eriksen still out through injury, Sabitzer is the prime candidate to start in place of Casemiro.
2. Scott McTominay.
The Scottish midfielder missed United’s last match through injury but could be available to make a return tomorrow.
In the early stages of this season, Scott was preferred by ten Hag before Casemiro eventually took his place. So now the Brazilian will be missing in action, this could be Scott’s opportunity to reclaim his position in the starting lineup.
1. Kobbie Mainoo.
The youngster who plays for Man United’s reserve team has been involved in some matches this season, and if ten Hag opts against starting Sabitzer and McTominay, then Kobbie could be handed a surprise starting berth against Leeds.
