Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford were enough to hand the Red Devils three points from the encounter, after falling behind by a Jack Grealish header.
But the incident that has become the subject of attention after the match, was Manchester United’s first goal, with many arguing that Marcus Rashford was offside and had interfered with the ball.
However, a close examination of the incident will reveal that the goal was not an offside, given that Bruno Fernandes was onside when the pass was made.
Some people might argue that Marcus Rashford interfered with the ball by running towards it.
However, they fail to see that he was not the only one running towards the ball, Fernandes was also running towards the ball.
Had it been Marcus Rashford was the only Manchester United player running at the ball then it would have been an offside but he was not.
Other points that further confirms the legitimacy of the goal, was that he neither touched the ball nor block an opponent from touching the ball.
