In the group they were drawn in, Ghana lost the first game against Portugal but they were very impressive and lively as they gave the European country a run for their money. The game ended 3-2 with Ghana missing a golden chance to get a point from the game in the last minute.
The Ghanaians won the second game against South Korea but lost the third game against Uruguay by two goals to nil. This saw them eliminated from the group stages alongside Uruguay.
Despite Ghana’s early elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, they still earned a tangible sum of money as cash prize. For getting eliminated in the group stage, Ghana got $9 million and this plus the $1.5 million they got before the beginning of the tournament makes it a total of $10.5 million won for participating in this World Cup.
