It was a well built goal for Leeds United and a well deserved lead as well following Manchester United’s defensive blunder. Leeds United who sacked their head coach days ago took the lead against Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United in the opening minutes of the first half.
Here are the two wrong decisions Erik Ten Hag made as Manchester United lost the first half.
Starting Marcel Sabitzer As A Defensive Midfielder
Sabitzer made his Manchester United debut today but Erik Ten Hag played him out of his preferred position. With Casemiro suspended, Erik Ten Hag had no other option but to pair Fred alongside Sabitzer but it should not be the case. Naturally, Sabitzer plays in the attacking midfield position.
Playing Zidane Iqbal in midfield with Sabitzer in attacking midfield position would have actually been better. Bruno Fernandes should have been on as a substitute as he had a terrible performance in the first half.
Benching Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho have lost his place in the Manchester United starting lineup. This haven’t been going well for the Englishman this season.
He has failed to deliver when given the opportunity but Erik Ten Hag has given him time. Today’s game would have been perfect to see how well Jadon Sancho has progressed. The Englishman will definitely have more to deliver than Alejandro Garnacho.
