Lionel Messi scored a stunning free kick and Kylian Mbappe struck a late winner off the bench as Paris Saint-Germain beat Nice 2-1 at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

Messi’s 28th-minute strike was his seventh of the season in all competitions for PSG this season. He’s scored four goals in two games for Argentina on the just-completed international break.

Ronaldo on the other hand is currently on a goal drought, he has scored just a single goal this season a penalty against FC Sheriff I’m the Europa League.

Messi was in his own groove and was rewarded with a wonderful goal. A lot of his teammates weren’t on his level. Ronaldo is currently struggling for form as he has found it hard to make any impact for both club and country this season.

PSG won 2-1 and it was a hard-fought one. Messi opened the scoring for the Parisians with one of his trademark freekick.

Laborde equalised for Nice straight after half-time, only for Mbappe to come in and seal the game for his side in the 83rd minute.

PSG are yet to lose since Christophe Galtier, who managed Nice last season, replaced Mauricio Pochettino as boss in the summer.

They go top with eight wins and a draw from nine games. Marseille, who drop to second, are also unbeaten with seven wins and two draws.
