Derby County starlet Malcolm Ebiowei is on the verge of joining Crystal Palace, despite interest from Manchester United.
Ebiowei enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough season under Wayne Rooney last season. The 18-year-old made 16 appearances for the Rams, attracting interest from several Premier League sides.
United have been keeping tabs on the teenage winger for the past few months. However, he is now one step away from joining Palace ahead of the next season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Ebiowei has already completed his medical at Selhurst Park. The player will soon sign a five-year deal at the club, joining the Eagles squad.
After the arrival of Erik ten Hag, rumours around Ebiowei’s possible move to United intensified.
The Dutch manager reportedly put the teenager’s name on his attacking shortlist for the current transfer window. However, it seems the Red Devils must now focus on their other options to bolster their forward line.
Ajax’s Antony has emerged as the Red Devils main attacking target ahead of the next season. The Brazilian winger made 23 appearances under Ten Hag last season, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.
According to 90min, United are planning to make their first offer for the player this week. However, their reported bid of £40m falls below Ajax’s valuation of the player, which is more than £50m.
