The Belgian is set to part ways with the Reds, as his contract expires this summer.
The 27-year-old, moved to Anfield in 2014, spending the next season back on loan with Lille.
However, managing to have only 18 appearances this season, the player didn’t get enough playing time to activate the one-year extension clause within his contract.
Talking about Origi’s departure, the German boss stated in his press conference:
“I expect Div to get a special reception. One of the most important players I ever had.
“He was and is a pure joy to work with. It’s not ever yet but he deserves all good thought we can generate for his future.
“He’ll be a success. Outstanding.
“I remember so many things when I think about Div. Goals, ups and downs. A Liverpool legend.”
