Following their awful start this season, and to avoid another shame in match day 3, here are Manchester United’s expectations against Liverpool.

1. Erik Ten Hag’s Aggressiveness on the touchline side; Siting and folding arms always as we saw in the first and second fixtures is not what the team needs now.

With the sluggish style the players are playing on the pitch, it will be nice if the newly signed coach should learn how to shout and be aggressive on the touchline while instructing his players.

Especially when they fail to be in their proper positions, when they make wrong passes and others. This will help turn things around than folding his hands and looking dull on the touchline.

He should learn such from other coaches like, Jose Mourinho, Pep, Mauricio Pochettino and Athletico Madrid’s coach.

2. Team selection; The new boss should try new selection this time as the old selection used by Ole and Ralf Rangnick have completely failed. Instead of selecting Harry Maguire, he should pair Martinez with Victor Lindelof or Varane.

Instead of McTominay and Fred, he should pick Van De Beek and any of the young stars who did well in the preseason.

Anthony Elanga should start instead of Marcus Rashford, so Jadon Sancho can operate well in his position while Elanga takes his.

3. Style of play; Liverpool will want to take advantage of Manchester United’s poor form, couple with the four nil defeat they suffered in preseason, so they will try to dominate the Red devils in every aspect.

Erik Ten Hag should instruct the team not to be so open, and give close markings. His boys should try and dominate the midfield. The midfielders should be heavily involved in that game. If possible, he should play Six midfielders.
