Manchester united and Barcelona are in direct talks as Erik Ten Hag wants Frenkie de Jong for his ‘rebuilding’. Barcelona has made clear price tag around 85 million Euros for Frenkie, even if Xavi Hernandez wants to keep him.
There’s still no official bid on the table but Manchester united are prepared to try and push again for de jong, as they’re informed about Barcelona’s issues with Financial fair play. This could give the red devils advantage during negotiation.
However, Frenkie de Jong is still not convinced to leave the club this summer as of now, he’d love to stay and he really wants to play UEFA champions league football next season. However, it might take his former coach Erik Ten Hag to convince him to sign for Manchester United.
Erik Ten Hag will try to convince De jong while Manchester United will push with Barcelona to find a solution. This will not be an easy deal but both parties are already in direct contacts.
This deal could take weeks before they reach a point of compromise. However, this won’t stop Manchester United from exploiting other transfer options as they intend strengthening their squad ahead of next season. Erik Ten Hag has Manchester united support and it could be a long busy summer for the new manager.
However, Barcelona have already signed Kessie from AC Milan as a free agent though they are yet to make it official. Kessie could be a perfect replacement for Frenkie de Jong. Since Paul Pogba will be leaving Manchester United this summer, it is obvious Erik Ten Hag wants Frenkie De Jong to be his replacement.
