Joao Cancelo sent Bruno Fernandes a note about how smart he played against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Bruno Fernandes is also from Portugal.

Antony and Diogo Dalot scored goals to help United win 2-0 at the City Ground.

The Reds are now in third place after Newcastle lost to Aston Villa on Saturday.

Because they lost to Bournemouth, Tottenham is now six points behind fifth place.

Fernandes ran the middle in the second game of the League Cup quarterfinal against Forest. He had scored against Forest in February.

The player had 96 touches during the game, made six key passes, and almost scored another goal against Forest if Keylor Navas hadn’t made a great tip save in the second half.

Roy Keane praised Fernandes’s effort, and the 28-year-old got the man of the match award for his work in the game. “Brilliant. Keane said of the No. 8 that he had “brilliant talent.”

He will be upset that he didn’t score, but his passes into the box were the kind that forwards dream of getting.

I know that we told him off before the game for making that pass when United didn’t win.

“I think the man is top-notch. He is two steps ahead in terms of his skills and how he imagines the football pitch.

Even though he didn’t score, he still had a great day. quite cosy.

Fernandes wrote on social media after the match, “On the road but always focused on our goal.

Another great Portuguese player, Cancelo, who seemed to be watching the game, wrote him a note.

He also said, in Portuguese, “Meu miudo joga muito,” which means “my kid plays a lot.” Cancelo’s situation after the summer is unclear, so he is now on loan from Manchester City to Bayern Munich for the rest of the season.
