The Reds are keen on the 22-year-old centre-forward, who earns £31,000 per week as a salary at Benfica. The Uruguayan striker rejecting Newcastle United and Man United is a boost for Liverpool, although PSG’s interest in the centre-forward does complicate things for the Merseyside club.

The Reds are regulars in the UCL and could actually win the tournament this campaign. Liverpool could also win the PL. So, we feel that the Reds would be very tempting for Darwin. Now, of course, the Reds have a very strong attacking unit, but the South American centre-forward is a ‘striker’ and is just 22.

We think that the Benfica no.9 will make the Reds better and more potent in the front-line and will give Jurgen Klopp another good option. The teenager has scored 26 goals and given four assists in the Portuguese league, and scored six goals in the UCL for Benfica this campaign.

A big factor in Darwin deciding his next club is UCL football, which only Liverpool can offer out of the three clubs rumoured to be into his signature. However, it is potentially unlikely that Liverpool will be willing to dish out a fee in excess of £68m, having already spent heavily on the signing of Luis Diaz in winter.
