Liverpool may find out tonight whether they’ll be able to make a move for Fluminense star Andre this summer with the Brazilian club bidding to stay in the Copa Libertadores.

The Reds are yet to bring in a third midfielder this summer despite losing James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are the only two arrivals with both players bedding into their new surroundings in pre-season. But Klopp has been made to wait on more incomings with Liverpool struggling to get more deals over the line.

Talks are ongoing with Southampton for Lavia with Liverpool having a third bid rejected from the south coast club. Southampton have set their valuation at £50million and aren’t prepared to go any lower with Liverpool looking at other options.

Brazilian star Andre has emerged as another option to come in as a deep-lying midfielder. The 22-year-old has already stepped up to the international stage with Brazil, making his debut for the senior side earlier this summer.

The Brazilian transfer window is now shut for the summer, meaning Fluminense can’t bring in a replacement for Andre.

The second leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals are scheduled to be played on the very last day of August, just hours before the Premier League transfer window closes.

Jurgen Klopp won’t want a last-minute transfer saga like last season, which ultimately saw them sign Arthur on loan from Juventus. But if Fluminense lose to Argentinos Juniors then that opens the door for Liverpool to possibly persuade the Brazilian side into selling.

Reports have suggested that Fluminense would accept a deal in the region of £20million for the midfielder….READFULL
