Liverpool’s forward, Darwin Nunez was fouled in Real Madrid’s penalty area but the referee, Istvan Kovacs just let play go on.

Nunez was clearly pulled by Dani Carvajal in the penalty area but the referee just let play go on despite the shouts from Liverpool’s players.

VAR reviewed the situation but they didn’t call the referee to review the incident. Carvajal got away with that offense and Liverpool missed the chance of pulling a goal back from the penalty spot.

Liverpool started really well in the opening minutes of the first half, Darwin Núñez took the leaf after he scored a brilliant goal from Mohamed Salah’s assist. Mohamed Salah extended Liverpool’s lead to 2-0 after he scored from Thibaut Courtois’ error.

Vinicius Junior pulled one back for Real Madrid after he scored from Karim Benzema’s assist. Just minutes before the half time whistle went off, Vinicius Junior scored the equaliser for Real Madrid following Alisson’s error.

Down into the second half of the match, Eder Militao scored from Luka Modric’s assist to give Real Madrid the lead. Karim Benzema gave Real Madrid a 4-2 lead after he scored from Rodrygo’s assist.

At this point Real Madrid were already running riot at Anfield. Karim Benzema made it 5-2 after he scored from Vinicius Junior’s assist.
