The Polish striker who was having a promising game had his time cut short on the pitch which was a huge blow to Barcelona. David Garcia already gave Osasuna the lead before the Lewandowski incident.

Lewandowski received his first yellow card in the 11th minute for a foul on an Osasuna player. The striker then failed to play a fair game as he was shown his second yellow card in the 31st minute which ended his stay on the pitch.

However, Lewandowski will not play Barcelona’s match against Espanyol after the World Cup as a result of his red card tonight as he will serve a match ban. His return date is against Atletico Madrid on the 8th of January 2023.
