Barcelona summer signing, Robert Lewandowski scored a hattrick as Xavi Hernandez’s men opened their Champions League Campaign with a comfortable 5-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night.

The Poland national team captain demonstrated his value by making it eight goals in five matches since leaving the Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich in July.

With his hattrick against Viktoria Plzen at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night, Robert Lewandowski now sit third on the Champions League all-time goal scorer with 89 goals behind just Lionel Messi (125) and Cristiano Ronaldo (141).

You will recall that the Poland international scored 33 Champions League goals for Bayern Munich in the last three seasons alone, including 13 in the 2021/22 season and he will be hoping to be on the scoresheet when he travels with Barcelona to take on Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena next week Tuesday in the Champions League.
