The first goal of the match came from Ollie Watkins and was followed by an own goal from Harry Souttar, making his Leicester debut.

James Maddison and Kelechi Iheanacho were able to bring Leicester back level, before Tete scored the go-ahead goal just before the break. Substitute Dennis Praet wrapped up the win for Leicester.

The first half of the match was an end-to-end battle with both teams creating numerous chances. Aston Villa started brightly and took the lead early on with a goal from Watkins. Leicester responded well to the setback and were able to level the score soon after with a goal from Maddison.

Unfortunately for Souttar, he inadvertently deflected a cross into his own goal, putting Aston Villa ahead once again. Leicester continued to fight and Iheanacho brought the score level before Tete marked his debut with a well-taken goal, putting Leicester ahead just before the break.

In the second half, Aston Villa made a double change, bringing in Alex Moreno and Philippe Coutinho. Leicester started the half strong, with Tete and Iheanacho both coming close to scoring.

However, Aston Villa began to come back into the game and thought they had equalized through Coutinho, but the goal was ruled offside. Leicester gave themselves some breathing room as Moreno failed to clear the ball, allowing Praet to score the final goal of the match.

The win was vital for Leicester and manager Brendan Rodgers, who got the better of Unai Emery in both matches between the two when Emery was at Arsenal. The win moved Leicester up to 13th place in the Premier League table, easing their concerns of being relegated.
