Barca Sends Warning To United Ahead Of Proposed De Jong Second Bid

FC Barcelona have told Manchester United that it makes ‘no sense’ for them to make an offer of €60/70M + add-ons for Frenkie De Jong. The club wants €86M fixed & nothing less.

United are expected to formally submit an improved bid to Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong imminently.

Manchester United sources say they are “negotiating hard” for a fair deal for Frenkie de Jong as they believe that had they yielded to Barcelona’s initial valuation it could have affected their capacity to strengthen other areas of the squad.

Barcelona are believed to want a guaranteed €75m (£64.55m), with add-ons to ensure De Jong’s overall fee surpasses what they paid Ajax to sign him.
United Pushing To Secure Eriksen

Manchester United hope to persuade Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen to join them before the new season – a move for him is unrelated to their efforts to sign Frenkie de Jong.

It was thought that Christian Eriksen would prefer to remain in London – however, a deal has not been agreed with Brentford or Tottenham, giving mufc the chance to make an offer for him.

Thomas Frank on whether Brentford can retain Christian Eriksen: “I don’t know. I know we still have a chance and I hope he’ll make a decision in 2 weeks. The agreement is that he’ll call me and tell me what he wants to do. He hasn’t decided yet.”

Man United and Brentford are still waiting for final answer from Christian Eriksen. Tottenham, focused on different players after one conversation with his agent – then no follow up or official bid.
