The Thriller singer is being played as an adult in the film, titled Michael, by Jackson’s brother Jermaine’s son Jaafar Jackson, in his film debut.

The 27-year-old has been compared to Michael on numerous occasions during filming as more pictures surface of the actor in costume, with many pointing out the uncanny resemblance between the two.

In new snaps from the set, Jaafar donned a blue and red military jacket with gold embellishments similar to many pieces worn by Michael throughout his career ahead of his death in 2009.

Jaafar could be seen smiling with his face obscured by large black sunglasses as filming for Michael continued.

‘His music and those images are part of my worldview, and the chance to tell his story on the screen alongside his music was irresistible.’

According to a synopsis of the film, Michael promises fans a ‘riveting and honest portrayal of the brilliant man who became the King of Pop’.

‘The film presents his triumphs and tragedies on an epic, cinematic scale – from his human side and personal struggles to his undeniable creative genius, exemplified by his most iconic performances,’ it adds.

Fans, however, have criticised a description of the film for calling Jackson ‘complicated’.
