Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Danny Drinkwater, Charly Musonda and Clarke-Salter have all parted ways with the English club on a permanent basis. Antonio Rudiger will join last season’s european and LaLiga champions, Real Madrid, on a free transfer, while Andreas Christensen will also be heading to Spain to sign with FC Barcelona as a new centre back.
Barcelona are also keen on signing two more Chelsea defenders after Andreas Christensen. The Spanish club are keeping an eye on César Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso this summer, it is reported that a deal away from Chelsea is likely possible for both Spaniards if an both clubs can reach an agreement concerning the transfer fee.
It is also reported that Real Madrid are monitoring Reece James’s contract situation at Chelsea. The Chelsea defender has three more years on his contract at the club, but Real Madrid are looking at the possibilities of bringing the England international to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Barcelona and Real Madrid persistence regarding Chelsea’s defender can affect the Blues if major world class signings are not made to replace the outgoing players. Chelsea can only compete against Manchester City and Liverpool, if they have good and quality players in every positions on the pitch.
Without major signings Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel can’t put an end to Manchester City’s and Liverpool’s domination in recent seasons in the premier league.
