The match started cautiously, with both teams eager for a win to improve their standings. In the 21st minute, Jonathan Bamba appeared to have given Celta the lead, only for VAR to disallow the goal for offside.

Almería came close to capitalizing on Celta’s setback, with Bruno Langa hitting the post shortly after. However, Celta’s goalkeeper Luís Maximiano made a stunning save to deny Anastasios Douvikas before halftime.

The second half saw Celta increase the pressure, with Carl Starfelt’s header also thwarted by Maximiano. Almería’s hopes took a further blow when Langa was sent off for a reckless challenge on Bamba.

Celta finally broke the deadlock with just over 15 minutes remaining, as Óscar Mingueza’s long-range strike found the net after hitting the post, much to the delight of the home fans. With the lead and a man advantage, Celta comfortably saw out the rest of the game, securing a valuable win that eased the pressure on manager Rafael Benítez.
