Karter spoke with Louis Theroux during his documentary, Twilight of the Porn Stars, where she divulged to him her hopes and dreams, years before her tragic death.

The adult actress died on February 15 from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Her body was found in her Ohio home, by her mother, The Parma Police Department revealed.

Her death would later be confirmed by close friends through a GoFundMe post, calling her a woman who “wore many hats.”

Authorities are continuing to investigate her death but told media there are “no signs of foul play.” At the height of her career, in 2012, she interviewed Theroux at her home in Los Angeles, California.

At the time, she lived with her boyfriend, Montae Weathers, who described himself as Karter’s “full-time assistant.”

When asked what this involved, Montae said during the documentary: “I give my input on what I believe that… you know… she should probably refrain from doing.”

Karter explained that while she was supporting both her and her boyfriend by doing sex work, it had a time limit for them

“I definitely want to do like another seven years,” she says. “By then, I think Montae and me will retire. “Everything I choose to do is just… to secure a better future for us. I’m always thinking about the future.

“Sometimes it’s wearying, and I tell Montae, ‘I’m sorry that I’m always so concerned about money’. But for me, it’s really important that one day I won’t have to do this anymore.”

Montae chimed in saying that it was not common in the sex industry for performers to have a “ten-year pan.” “It’s more about getting their paycheck, going to buy the new Christian Louboutins that they can fit on their feet. It’s not like that with her,” he continued.

While Weathers seemed to respect his then-girlfriend the two would get into disagreements about the types of jobs she took.

However, Karter explained that what she did was often in her boyfriend’s best interest. “I know what’s best for us because I’ve been running this train for a long time now,” she said.

“Montae doesn’t understand that the reason that I do certain scenes is not because I am just a big whore.”

THE LIFE AND DEATH OF KAGNEY LINN KARTER

Karter began her adult career in the early 2000s, starring in films such as The Official Silence of the Lambs Parody and Not Married with Children XXX.

In 2019, she retired from the porn industry and moved back to Ohio, where she is originally from. Her friends Rachel and Megan revealed on Karter’s GoFundMe page that the three met after the adult star enrolled in their dance studio in Cleveland.

“She immediately warmed to the studio and all the students with an effortless grace… She spent so much time at the studio, sometimes taking five or six classes per week, and threw herself into her training.

“Watching Kagney flourish in an environment that made her feel confident and happy was a true joy.” Karter quickly became one of the studio’s top dancers before she branched out to start her own.

“Business ownership is no easy task, but Kagney never shied away from the challenge,” they said. “Her students and staff remember her incredibly fondly, both as an intelligent and intuitive instructor and as an owner who did all she could to build a little community of her own, something of which she could be proud… The best version of herself.

“Unfortunately, despite all of her many impressive accomplishments and talents, Kagney struggled with mental health issues as the years passed by.

“Even in her darkest days, however, she still showed up to the studio, always ready to learn, contribute, better herself in whatever small way she could manage.”

After news of her death broke out, those who knew her gave touching tributes to the actress. “RIP Kagney Linn Karter. I interviewed her in 2010 and 2011.

First time was funny ’cause she just wasn’t ready for my kind of humor and didn’t know what to make of my weird questions!” Entertainer Big Al wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“But by the next year she had caught on and handled it like a pro. Thanks for the memories, Kagney.” Theroux also took to social media to remember her as a “kind and thoughtful” person who was “v[ery] honest…CONTINUE READING>>
