PUNCH Metro learnt from an eyewitness that the man was found lying down in the pool of his blood with injuries to his legs and forehead.
A source, who did not want to be mentioned in the media because he was not authorised to do so, told our correspondent that the deceased victim might have been mistaken for a robber.
PUNCH Metro’s source in the Sagamu Police Division, where the matter was reported, said the deceased victim might have been innocent, adding that the division was embarking on a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances behind the death of Idowu.
“Where the man was found was not far from his elder brother’s house. Nobody knows exactly what happened or why the man was beaten to death. There were bruises on his leg and forehead. A Bajaj motorcycle with registration number EKY 754 QN was found lying beside him.
“Also, a generator believed to belong to his brother was found beside him. One of the residents called the Sagamu Police Division, which came to remove the victim to the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, to see whether he was alive before he was declared dead by the doctor on duty,” the source told our correspondent on Tuesday…CONTINUE READING>>
