Josiah Kariuki says he is the one who has been paying the government through NCPB, contrary to the allegations that he has been receiving money from the government.
Kariuki is the Chief Executive officer of Silica Booster Limited Innovate Manufacturers (SBL). According Kariuki, Kenya Bureau of Standard(KEBS) went to his company and took a sample of his products for analysis.
“I applied through KEBS we went to the company and took a sample of the product a compinied with methodology and they issued me with the licence and a have everything on WhatsApp.” Kariuki said.
He said when investigative journalist Allan Namu approached him for his side of the story, he suggested that he would give 400 farmers using his fertilizer to be interviewed.
He further stated that KEBS erred on the seal they issued him, citing that he informed the standardization bureau that he was producing organic silk, but t KEBS wrote organic.
” I’ve been having a problem with KEBS when I aproach them. I told them that I’m making organic Silk but they only wrote organic,” He added.
Thr propri added that he moved to court to stop the African Uncensored from airing the feature, but the media house went ahead and aired the feature.
