The Manchester City manager was questioned about one of his players. Bernardo Silva has been linked with the Catalan giants, but the Spanish coach, in a few words, has already made it clear that it won’t be an easy move: “It’s very difficult for them”.
Guardiola also had words to say about Lewandowski, whom he managed in Munich: “We’re talking about Lewandowski, his career speaks for itself. He adapts to any place. I don’t know if Bayern will transfer him and if Barça can afford it.
Pep was also questioned about Barcelona’s situation. The Spaniard wanted to send a message of realism and calm to Barcelona fans: “It’s difficult, but when you can’t do great things you have to be calm. There are moments in history when you have to accept that the situation is what it is”.
“Sometimes taking a lower profile helps to grow faster. The economic situation is what it is. I’m not talking about the quality of the coaches, managers or players.
The perception I have there is good, but sometimes you have to be calm. Assume that it will take a year or two and it won’t be easy without being able to make big signings,” insisted Pep.
Despite the tough reality, he hopes to see FC Barcelona return to the top: “Now the situation is what it is, we have to accept who we are. And with that, we have to try to win the next game and the one after that. But to do that we have to accept that the situation is what it is. It’s not what they want and it will be difficult, but the successes will come”.
