The Governor revealed the looming change while delivering his State of the County address at the Nairobi County Assembly as he discussed the reforms his administration has initiated in hospitals across the Capital.

“The C.E.O of Mutuini Hospital, soon to be renamed Mama Rachel Ruto Hospital, is Dr Wanda,” stated Sakaja

However, he did not reveal the date when the name will officially be changed.

He explained that his government had reformed the governance structures of the hospitals as part of the reforms recommended by a task force instituted within the first 60 days after he took office.

Sakaja clarified that the Taskforce comprised C.E.Os from various reputable organisations to inform the decisions made by the County.

Additionally, Sakaja explained that as part of the reforms, his government also reconstituted the Boards of all the hospitals in a bid to bring in fresh leadership.
