The Golden Boy award is given to the best young player who had an impressive performance in a calendar year
Barcelona star, Pedri, Manchester City’s ace, Erling Haaland, Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix, Paris Saint Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe and Bayern Munich centre back, Matthijs De Ligt won the award in the last five years
Pedri won it last year, Erling Haaland in 2020, Joao Felix in 2019, Kylian Mbappe in 2018 and Matthijs De Ligt became the first ever defender to win the award in 2017.
The Seven Premier League stars who were nominated are Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliot from Liverpool, Destiny Udogie from Tottenham Hotspur, Anthony Elanga from Manchester United, Fabio Silva from Wolves and Wilfred Gnonto from Leeds United
