Well, fans have been talking about Deschamps’ decision to drop Raphael Varane to the bench, France’s poor display and poor defending, Saliba’s quiet game, and Eriksen’s control, but this article will center on how Christian Eriksen’s brilliant display suggests the midfielder still has a lot to offer Manchester United.
1. The Midfielder Dictated The Flow Of The Game Against A Talented French Midfield.
Note that Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen didn’t score or assist a goal, but he had a great impact on the game. He has more than 70 touches, and surprisingly, Eriksen made at least 8 key passes during the game. Eriksen could have had at least an assist, but Denmark’s forward failed to score.
In the first half, Eriksen almost scored a direct corner kick. Beyond that, the midfielder’s vision and passing accuracy singled him out on the pitch. However, all these attributes shown by Eriksen suggest he still has a lot to offer Manchester United.
