There’s still a while to go, and we’re sure there will be further additions to the squad before we kick off on the 13th of August, but we can already see the early part of the season taking shape.

That first game is a tough one – with Liverpool coming to Stamford Bridge for an electrified early encounter for Pochettino to get his teeth into. But after that, we have a really gentle run for the first 6 weeks of the season.

There are no easy games in the Premier League, as we found out week after week last season, but there’s no denying there’s the potential for some wins here.

Following the Liverpool game we head to the London Stadium to play a newly Declan Rice-less West Ham. That’s not easy, but there’s no telling what kind of shape the Hammers will be in. They could spend the Rice money well or badly, but either way, much like us, they will be a bit of an unknown quantity in these early weeks.

After that, things get easier – Luton at home is as close to a must win as you’ll get in the league all year. Nottingham Forest caused us plenty of trouble but should also be a game we expect to win, especially at home.

After that, games away at Bournemouth and at home against Aston Villa will be difficult in their own way, but will still be looked at as games on the easier end compared to the matches to follow later in the season against the likes of Manchester City, Newcastle and Arsenal.
