In recent years, Manchester United has faced criticism for poor transfer deals. Here are five players who didn’t succeed at Old Trafford and ended up returning to their previous clubs.

Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund):

Manchester United signed Sancho for €85 million in 2021, but his time at Old Trafford was marked by disciplinary issues and being frequently late. He was eventually loaned back to Borussia Dortmund in January to revive his career.

Paul Pogba (Juventus):

Pogba had two unsuccessful stints at Manchester United. After a promising start, he left for Juventus and returned in 2016 for a record €105 million. However, his second tenure was disappointing, and he left in 2022, later facing issues, including a positive test for enhanced testosterone at Juventus in 2023.

Gerard Pique (Barcelona):
