He was born on 16 June 1989, he is a Nigerian professional football player who currently plays as a forwarder for Saudi Arabia Al Hilal and the Nigeria national team.

After starting his career at Nigerian club Prime and Julius Berger, Ighalo moved to Lyn in Norway in 2007. After one year, he was signed by Udenese in Italy, spending most of his tenure on two separate loan spells with Spanish club Granada. In 2014, he signed for Watford in England and was a integral in the club’s promotion to the Premier League in the 2014/2015 season.

In January 2017, Ighalo joined Shanghai Shenhua. In January 2020, Ighalo returned to Premier League club Manchester United on loan, initially until the end of the 2019/2020 season, the loan was extended until January 2021, the striker made 23 appearances scoring 5 goals for Manchester United.

The Nigeria International made his debut for the Super Eagles in March 2015 against Uganda. He represented the nation at the 2018 world cup and was the highest goalscorer in 2019 Africa Cup of all nations and he led Nigeria to the third place finish at the 2019 Africa cup of all nations, he was crowned top scorer at the end of the tournament.
