According to the news shared by Star, NTSA director general George Njao has revealed the regulations that has been set to help in curbing road accidents.
Among the regulations implemented are medical checks among drivers on the roads which extends from alcholol to other stimulants. Njao noted that many accidents are caused by drivers who are suffering from fatigue, failing to plan a journey, lack of courtesy and speeding.
NTSA has also marked major blackspots on the roads which will be shared to the drivers to enable them aware of the dangers and navigate the spots more carefully.
Njao said that NTSA will increase enforcemenr on night travels by coordinating with saccos to ensure that only rested drivers are behind the wheel. It was noted that most of the accidents happen at night.
New speed governors and limitors have also been implemented and will inform a user if the vehicle has speed governor and if its working.
NTSA will conduct a crackdown for illegal passagers service vehicles saying that they don’t comply with regulations.
School transports will also be fitted with dashboard cameras to monitor the behaviour of drivers and occupants…CONTINUE READING>>
