He urged the President to pay attention to public sentiments and not disregard the concerns of the people. Criticizing the given reasons for relocating critical Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) departments and moving the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to Lagos, Yusuf deemed these justifications unacceptable.

He emphasized the legal basis for the initial relocation of the capital from Lagos to Abuja and cautioned against arbitrary reversals of such decisions.

While expressing his dismay at the lack of communication from the government to the Nigerian people, Professor Usman Yusuf pointed out that the prevailing mistrust is a result of the challenges and difficulties experienced by the populace. He emphasized the importance of the President listening to the concerns of the people and not dismissing the speculations that have arisen.
