As we know, Chelsea are going to be heavily involved in any manager situations right now due to the fact that they are looking for a new manager.

Romano confirms on the video that Chelsea ARE still looking for a new manager and it seems nothing is done or close yet, with not much to report on that front.

However, there is an interesting snipper on Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton. Although Romano doesn’t say Chelsea are interested in him, he does mention Chelsea alongside updates on De Zerbi.

He basically says that De Zerbi now has a new release clause that is less than £10m, down from £15m, and he urges us to keep an eye on what might happen with him in the coming days – it could be part of a manager domino. He mentions Manchester United as well alongside all of these updates.

De Zerbi has been plenty linked with Chelsea in the past and again recently, with the club now with a vacant position for a new head coach.

It would now be silly at this point to completely rule it out. Chelsea have staff members and decision makers who have worked with De Zerbi before, and also players who have in the shape of Moises Caicedo and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Sporting Director Paul Winstanley obviously worked with De Zerbi at Brighton, as did newly appointed recruitment expert Sam Jewell, who has also arrived at Chelsea from Brighton in recent weeks.
