Although Ronaldo is expected to be available, Erik ten Hag has been named as the Red Devils’ new manager for the 2018 campaign.

Although Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United, which pays him £480,000 a week, still has a year left on it, there are some questions about whether he will still be with the team in a few weeks.

The Portuguese striker is eager to join a squad that will participate in Europe’s top club tournament next season after scoring 24 goals in his comeback in August.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ronaldo skipped Monday’s preseason workout due to “family concerns.”

Romano is aware that ten Hag wants to retain Ronaldo at Manchester United and is thus adamant about preventing the great player, who is valued at £27 million, from leaving the club.

Ronaldo wants to go, but the transfer expert believes the Red Devils are unlikely to change their minds

“Manchester United’s viewpoint is not changing,” Romano said to GIVEMESPORT. They don’t think Cristiano should be sold and want him to remain.

“I believe that announcing he is not for sale sends the idea that we don’t want to bargain, particularly with Chelsea, for instance.”

As Romano indicated, Chelsea is considering a Ronaldo trade before the start of the new campaign.

It follows the disclosure that Blues owner Todd Boehly talked with Jorge Mendes, the 189-cap Portugal international’s agent, to inquire about the viability of a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Although Manchester United’s Premier League rivals have not yet made a final decision on whether to make a formal bid, Ronaldo is said to be interested in joining Chelsea.

The Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich and Napoli have both been mooted as potential destinations for the 37-year-old.
