In the last two decades, the incidence of this medical condition has increased by 40%, and according to Mayo Clinic, this type of cancer is linked to an increase in obesity, excessive intake of alcohol, and the consumption of processed foods.

Cancer of the uterus can be found during routine medical examinations such as Pap tests and HPV screenings. There are many instances in which a patient does not show any symptoms.

Given below are four things every women shoud stay away from in order to avoid uterine cancer.

1. Obese women have a higher risk of developing uterine cancer. Those who are obese (overweight) are ten times more likely to develop uterine cancer. As a woman, you should avoid overeating or eating too much of junk or high-fat foods that can make you become obese or overweight.

The risk of uterine or endometrial cancer is increased in overweight or obese women, but researchers are unsure why this is the case.

Being overweight may increase the risk of uterine cancer because it raises estrogen levels. Overweight people have higher levels of the growth factors IGF-1 and insulin in their bodies, which in some situations can help tumors grow faster. Uterine cancer risk increases in obese or overweight women with high blood pressure or diabetes.

2. Hormone therapy for the treatment of breast cancer is tamoxifen. Long-term use of Tamoxifen may increase the likelihood of having uterine cancer by a trivial amount.

It is clear that the benefits of tamoxifen outweigh the risks. Talk to your healthcare provider if you’re using tamoxifen or if you notice any abnormal vaginal bleeding.

3. Postmenopausal women taking oestrogen backup medication have also been found to have higher blood levels of female hormones only when they consume alcohol. Consequently, women who drink hard liquor may be at a greater risk of developing endometrial cancer.

4. Women with human papillomavirus (hpv) and a poor diet are more likely to develop uterine cancer if they consume foods high in inflammation, like the Western diet.
